Written evaluation.
1. In what ways does my project use or challenge conventions?
My media studies movie uses conventions from horror/thriller films, this is with the use of fast cuts and close ups which make the movie more suspensefull like normal thriller/horror movies. I used black and white as when horror films are mentioned the majority of people think of the old black and white ones like frankenstine, dracula or even the mummie(Borris Karlofnedf), all these films were in black and white because of the time yet they are still what people think of when horror films are mentioned, I got the idea of using black and white from the movie Young frankenstine which was made in 1976 but was in black and white due to it being a parody of the original. I used the idea of using a dream from Final Destination, horror movies conventionally use tactics like this inorder to build suspense.
2. How does my film represent certain social groups?
my film represents the normal, average, everyday teenager trying to get away from whatevers pursueing him, he wears normal clothes which represents that he is just your typical average Joe. It represents that teenagers are resourceful due to the fact that the protagonist is the only normal un-infected person seen.
3. My movie would probably be sent into youtube so that it could be viewde and reviewed by a large audience.
4.What is my target audience?
My primary target audience is teenagers or any one who enjoys horror films, because the content of violance or swearing it is highly likely that the film would be rated a 15 in British cinemas.
5. How would I attract my audience?
The opening sequrnce of the main character running from a strange presence makes the audience more anxious and curious as to what the pursuers are and why they haunt the protaganists dreams so much. I would also put up internet adverts, the best method would be for me to respond to certain videos with mine to get more attention.
6. What have I learned over this course.
Ive learned how to use the editing tool pinacle studio 10 to better edit my footage with better transition effects, some of which I have put into my final edit. I have also learned that pinacle studio 10 splits the clips up better than movie maker.
7. looking at my prelim how have I improved?
Since my prelim I have learned how to better place my footage and how to better edit it, I have also learned how to better pick location and where to place my camera if I want a speciffic angle such as the shot in my movie where only the feet are seen.
